Had to do some laundry while on vacation so checked the reviews and popped in. Great selection of dogs among other menu items. Had one of my fav brews (Yuengling lager) in the fridge as well. Enjoyed relaxed feel and music playlist. Definitely a place to put on your Pensacola Beach itinerary.

Love this place more and more every time we go! Their hot dogs are phenomenal. I particularly favor the original and the flying Hawaiian. Breakfast is good too. Only place I can find Zapps sour cream and onion chips!

I really wanted a chili dog for lunch on our third day on Santa Rosa Island. I talked Ms T into it. Again the place was nearly deserted. Apparently October gets pretty slow around here. You have a choice of three sizes of dogs, I elected a couple of the smaller size, with chili and slaw. Ms T just went with some mustard and mayo. The wiener is decent with good texture, not mush and with good salt. This always helps them to stand up to chili. The chili was also OK, the slaw was lost. The mustard and mayo is applied to the top like a topping, rather than being buttered on the bun. The buns are quite a bit too big for the 6" dog. They are probably fine for the larger versions. I tore off a lot of bread and discarded it. They were barely warm. All in all this is OK, they have a lot of creative hot dogs and we did not really test them. I am a traditional southern chili and slaw dog guy and these were not stellar.

Found this place about 2 years ago and got lunch. Hot dogs are delicious!!!! This visit we got breakfast. If you want something fast and delicious this is the place to come to. There aren't many places on the beach for breakfast besides Dog house deli and Native cafe. Staff is amazing! Always friendly and welcoming! I wish I took pictures of the food but it was to good to put down. The hubby and I shared French toast bites absolutely delicious both had a bacon egg and cheese which was the perfect about of food and he had the smoked Gouda grits one of the best he has ever had with a perfect hint of smoke! Everyone must give this place a try! Inexpensive and good food. We sat to eat and watch family's come in and and out looking for breakfast platters because native cafe was busy. They should of sat down down and ate! One group was going to go to ihop!!! Noooooo that's just gross food and a waste of money. You won't go wrong with breakfast or lunch here.

Cute place and the food was great! We had an excellent steak egg and cheese biscuit and the French toast was good too!

This place is amazing!!! Delicious hot dogs and a great family atmosphere. This family owned deli knows exactly how to serve up delicious noms all day. Don't discount having breakfast at a deli! Their breakfast burritos are tasty and their bread pudding is sweet and homemade. Definitely check it out!

Decided to check this place out since our hotel was right next to it. If you're looking for an expensive spot with table side service, this isn't the place for you. But friendly, warm, basket plate service & coffee in to go cups...still makes this place a must visit! Upon walking in, it's a small & cute mom/pop type shop. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid back. For breakfast we ordered a cup of the smoke gouda grits, French toast bites, steak egg & cheese biscuit, and the sausage egg & cheese biscuit. Everything is under $9, so nothing that will break the bank. Their mom was actually the one cooking, and even with a little bit of a wait on the food...EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. The French toast bites are enough to share with 6 pieces, and the steak egg & cheese biscuit was too good!! Literally, everything was delicious. Highly recommend coming here for breakfast! Try to come a little early before the breakfast rush so you can save a spot! We ended up coming back for Lunch and ordered the Chicago dog, the velvet Elvis & a chili cheese dog. TALK ABOUT AWESOME. The Chicago dog is a must have!

The shrimp on the shrimp-n-grits were a little small, but well seasoned. The real winner here was the sweet potato pancakes covered with pecans!! The crawfish/Andouille breakfast burrito was a little boring, but we heard good recommendations about the linguica was highly recommended. We ended breakfast with some tasty banana pudding - yum!

Great place for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend shrimp and grits. It has a kick to it and is made from perfection. Love a good ol' bacon, egg, and cheese from here too. Friendly staff and cozy environment. I wouldn't say this place can accommodate huge groups but there are good bar stools and plenty of window seating.

What a find! Delicious dogs in a fun and groovy locale. Mark and I got an appetizer of chips and it was, well... not impressive. Not bad, just very little for the price. But the hot dogs made up for everything! Incredible number of options. Every topping I had was quality. The meat was quality. We ordered, and ordered again...it was just too good not to have two hot dogs. My husband got four. What sent them from a 4 to a 5 was the service. I spilled my beer all over the place, and they did not make me feel one iota of guilt. They INSISTED on pouring me another, even though I kept saying, "It was my fault." Go here. Happiness will follow.

Oh my dog....this place can get crowded but it's so worth it. Whichever dog you choose, you won't be disappointed. They are finger-licking good. And add a mimosa and you've got a perfect noon snack!!!!

Recipe for the perfect "All American" Meal: --One high quality all beef or beef and pork hot dog --A warm, soft and chewy, steamed bun --Top with just the right amount of condiments (whichever ones of the 22+ they offer) --Add a side of mac & cheese with Andouille sausage bits, or red beans and rice, or nachos, or a bag of chips. --Sip on a cold local draft beer, or fountain drink, or bottled soda. --Be served by super friendly and congenial staff...and...B-I-N-G-O ! You get all that at the Dog House Deli Hot dogs are one of my passions and I try to get them wherever a reputable vendor is located. Today that place happened to be the Dog House Deli. I think the term "deli" is a bit of a stretch in the traditional sense...no cold cuts, no pastrami, no corned beef Reuben...you get the picture, right? But, wanna dog "your way?" Then stop by and order up. "Frank"ly speaking this is the place to get it in Pcola. I will have to return several times to get a better taste of the unique combos they offer. But suffice it to say that today's dogs were deliciously dog-gone dandy. Full of flavor, excellent offerings. (Minor observation - they appear to come only steamed. Grilled or fried would be a nice option.) Coming Soon...according to the local "intel" ... a Breakfast Burrito Bar. Gotta try it. By the way...the place is tiny...so you may have to wait a bit. But the wait will be well worth your time. (Hey, you're probably on vacation here anyhow.)

The shrimp and grits were soooo delicious, and definitely worth the $9. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. Their banana pudding is a great dessert, no matter what time of day!

Great hot dogs! They have regular 6 inch or quarter pound 8 inch dogs and will make them to your specifications. They have every topping imaginable. I had chili, cheese, onion, and brown mustard. So good. Great beach food, cold beer, and fast friendly service add up to an easy 5 rating!

This was my first time to Pensacola, but I'm so glad I saw this place listed on Yelp, because I LOVE hot dogs. And I come from Cincinnati, where we have the best hot dogs, especially gourmet dogs. If you are on vacation, you HAVE to visit this place. It has such an awesome, beachy, peaceful vibe, from the colorful decor to the beachy, hipster music. The service is fantastic. They are very patient with you and will answer any questions, because they offer a LOT of different types of dogs, and you can create your own. You'll see the dogs listed on the wall on the right, when you walk in, but make sure to also look to your left for other items on their menu. I chose to create my own. Oh, I should say that I am still here in Pensacola and I've already visited this place twice. So both times I chose to create my own dog. Their chili is awesome. Great texture and taste. Their slaw is sweet and delicious. Make sure to try their Macaroni Andouille. PERFECTION. So, so, good. And their prices are so reasonable. I got a dog, a side, and a drink for $9. I plan to visit this place 1-2 more times before I leave. Excellent!

I would say it's just ok, nice for a quick bite. Chili wasn't really great. If you want a nice sized hot dog then order at least the quarter pound. Chicago dog looks the most appetizing and was tasty.

Perfect spot for cheap eats in Gulf Breeze. Seriously did a double-take when they told me the total. The staff was great! Greeted as we walked in and made us feel welcome. I went for the Chicago dog, perfect, down to the last detail.

I had the Zoey dog and it was pretty average, chili jalapenos sauerkraut and hot mustard. The highlight was the bun! It was very moist with a light italian bread taste. Service was pretty average, the place is small with a long table and bar style seating. It's right across from the beach and very reasonably priced. A great place to stop for a snack after bumming out on the beach

Rarely do I step out of a restaurant and immediately write a review but this place deserves it! Ordered a cup of the shrimp and grits, the royal egg muffin, and a large orange juice and it cost me a little over $10. Why? The orange juice was free. Yup. Free. In San Francisco that would never happen and a large is normally well over $5 but Popeye and the other server were amazing and I've already penciled in another trip whenever I make my way back. Oh, right - the food. What more can I say that others have already said on Yelp besides this was the perfect way to start my day. Both items were insanely good but the Shrimp and Grits were outstanding. Make sure you help Popeye on his next adventure when you drop by!

Super friendly staff! #1 coleslaw dog was delish! Also enjoyed the classic nachos. Lots of locals there and fast service. Found it on yelp as we travelled.

Very small place, but stop anyway. Great banana pudding. The bar-b-que nachos were to kill for. Hots dogs were good except for my bun was a little stale. Man who ran the place was very nice. I would definitely come back.

Absolutely best food we've had on this trip so far! Not something I can get back home! Amazing variety and affordable prices! I had the flyin Hawaiian and it was incredible! If you have a decent appetite get the quarter pounder, or even the half pound! Bbq nachos were good as well! Huge huge fan of the flyin Hawaiian tho!

We were looking for a local joint for a quick bite to eat for dinner and Dog House Deli did not disappoint. We both created our own hot dogs from the huge list of toppings. We also split a royal nacho that was good but fairly standard fare. If you go make sure you save room for dessert and get some bread pudding!!

Best breakfast on Pensacola Beach and best red beans & rice from NOLA. Hands down. Go and support an awesome local business!

Good banana pudding. Great dogs! Red beans and rice could use a little more rice but the taste was awesome!!

Great breakfast - went two days in a row. Don't expect IHOP portions - instead expect made-to-order egg sandwiches on a crusty French bread, shrimp n grits, and sweet potato pancakes. Also about 1/2 the price of the popular place a few doors down. Good, basic coffee (serve yourself refills). Great service, too. we need to go back for lunch and try the hot dogs. *five stars in relation to other breakfast places on the beach

Just had breakfast there it was fantastic. Had the skirt steak egg and cheese biscuit with a side of Gouda grits. Yummy! Well worth the price. We will be back.

Helpful waitress, menu to make you drool. Everything is very reasonably priced. Definitely a dive vibe, but friendly and beachy. The Bayou grits were chunky, meaty, cheesy goodness, really something special. The crawfish andouille burrito was remarkable in its flavor profile and cooked perfectly, with a nice crunch on the exterior of the tortilla. The banana pudding is light, creamy (must have a ton of heavy cream in there), with bites of cookie and banana. Very homey and it makes you happy to eat it. Great find, strongly recommend.

Amazing! Been here twice now. Everything has so much flavor! My favorite two so far are the Flyin Hawaiian and the Zoe Dawg. Sooo goood!

Ate here for a late breakfast with my family. Service was great. Good music and window seats were cool for people watching. We had sweet potato pancakes, smoked gouda grits and a chorizo chipotle burrito. All the food was great and reasonably priced. Small place but much better breakfast than we could have gotten from our hotel.

While I did come here as a tourist, I want to first state that I've spent every single summer on the island since I was a tot, so I know a lot of island spots. Last time I was here we came for breakfast before heading back to Tx. I ordered the shrimp and grits and coffee. Coffee was normal, nothing special. Shrimp and grits, they were delicious. I ordered a cup because I'm cheap ($5 sometime a cup and $8 for the bowl) but I wish I had ordered the bowl. That being said, my tiny cup had either 4 or 5 lovely huge gulf shrimp. They tasted so good! The gouda grits were a perfect match for the shrimp. The hot dogs are a great lunch on the beach. My favorite is the chili dog topped with coleslaw. Sounds weird, but it's delicious. Just don't get ahead of yourself, they are hot dogs. Please don't come in expecting some wonderful Chopped-like take on a hot dog. Always a go-to when I'm on the island.

The only think I don't like about this place is how far it is from my house. I was driving by and saw the Magical Sentence on their marquee that said "Andouille Sauce Dog with Mac and Cheese". So after a maniacally executed u-turn, I was inside ordering within minutes. It's a small place, but has a lot of character and the staff is cool and laid-back. I had the special and a Chicago dog (which I have been craving for months), and they were amazing. The Chicago dog was fresh and delicious, while the Andouille Mac & Cheese dog was filling and tasty. The crumbled Cheez-Its on top made it. So these guys are are taking the hot dog and stepping it up a notch to something so awesome, you'll wish your last name was Kobayashi.

This is a MUST!!! These people need to be franchised & placed in every city...cus they figured it out! If you're looking for a quality ingredient gourmet hot dog with some of the most creative, original & delicious styles...search no more..:this is it... The only down side is there isn't much space for a sit down meal, although that won't keep me from coming back!! Though if you're real hungry, get two or an additional side, as I had one large dog & was looking around for my second ;) Nice interior aswell, laid back & great staff!! GREAT staff, very friendly & they know their dogs!! Looking forward to my next one...(I'm drooling just thinking about it)

We decided to visit this place after reading the reviews on here. The food was yummy, the staff were nice, and the place is funky. Definitely recommend to try the Polish Kielbasa add cheese sauce!

I would never have taken a second look at this little hole in the wall if I hadn't read Yelp reviews. We were looking for something better than our hotel breakfast buffet. Dog House Deli was a jackpot find. Thanks, Yelpers! The place is tiny. The tables are sticky. The guy in front of me in line wasn't wearing shoes. So why on earth 5 stars? Great friendly staff who immediately welcomed us back when we returned the second day. And yummy breakfast. My pick: the Gouda grits (hubby likes the Bayou ones). I had a great little sausage egg and cheese biscuit. He had breakfast burritos and loved both the ones he tried. Oh, and a cranberry orange mimosa. A tad more pricey that your typical hole in the wall. But worth it.

The name totally does not do justice to all the amazing offerings to be found at this beach gem. Love it for breakfast, we took ours to go and ate it on the beach. Can I just say I ate both the shrimp and grits and their egg and cheese biscuit with my feet in the warm gulf water and that experience alone was a little slice of breakfast heaven.

I tried Dog House Deli for breakfast on a quiet Monday morning. I was the lone customer, but the lady running the restaurant was very friendly and cooked up a terrific breakfast. Their breakfast burrito was very good, but the bayou grits were a happy surprise. It's a simple, comfortable place right in the middle of downtown Pensacola with a notably less pretentious air than some of its neighbors. I can't comment on the lunch/dinner fare, but all of the reviews recommending breakfast here are on the money. Pensacola has quite a few great places to grab breakfast, but if you want a change of pace with a little cajun flare, give this place a shot.

Breakfast can't be beat because of the magical boudin bistro sandwich made with boudin from the best shop grocery in Lafayette LA (stand alone 5 stars). Bread was fresh and the perfect vessel for the perfectly crispy flattened boudin and perfectly gooey egg (not hard to do but seemingly impossible to get right at a restaurant!). We also ordered the crawfish andouille breakfast burrito which had tots inside (sounded promising but lackluster after the magical boudin sandwich). Coffee is delicious and self serve but be warned if you want other fancy caffeinated options (not available). Returned for lunch since we needed to try the wieners. They started strong with options to choose 6, 8, or 11" BUT the circumference is medium (I would prefer a little thicker) and the bun is with a sweet potato-like bread at a competing ratio, which I prefer my meat to bun ratio to be 75/25 meat (and preferable not sweet) ;) loved the opportunity to create my own combinations of toppings (I chose fritos, chili, jalapeños with raw onions and ketchup on the side) however needed more meat to hold up to all the toppings most people would order (and the ketchup was absolutely necessary). Also ordered the red beans and rice by the menus suggestion, and it truly did not disappoint (especially coming here after a few days in New Orleans/Lafayette!) Was pleasantly surprised by occasional andouille nibbles. Great local beers on tap and a fun face picture to pose with out front. Love the story of the owner and fell in love with the adorable little chef serving when we went. Will most definitely return.
